Design
Greenfield has designed fiber optic infrastructure for communities ranging from 500 to over 10,000 premises, including single family homes, multi-dwelling units, apartments and commercial property. As part of the design process, Greenfield develops a master plan for the development, followed by complete conduit designs, Headend/NOC design, and fiber optic cable/splitter/splicing designs. Site visits are made by our engineers and tentative tract maps and land use plans are analyzed to complete the master plan design.
All FTTH systems are designed to be completely passive (requiring no electric power in any of the outside plant) with no above ground pedestals which produces an aesthetically pleasing and very reliable communications system. Greenfield is a certified Passive Optical Network (PON) designer. The FTTH networks have a capacity of over 150 Mbps to each home/premise.

On-Site Installation and Testing
One or more dedicated field technicians are assigned to a specific project to install and splice the fiber from curb to premise. Our technicians have installed and tested various fiber electronic manufacturers equipment, as well as tested inside wiring for continuity, shorts and signal strength. Technicians are also trained to install Cat5e+ and Coaxial cabling. Once fiber equipment is installed, technicians set-up, configure and test ISP connectivity, routers, networking equipment, IP phones and ATA’s, and video set-top boxes.
