What does the Greenfield equipment look like and where is it located in my home?
Greenfield equipment is located in your homes Structured Wiring Panel, which is where all of your communications lines (telephone, data, television) are routed. This panel is generally located in the Master Bedroom Closet or in the Garage. If you live in a condo, the Greenfield equipment may be located in the doghouse (on the side of the condo).Greenfield installs two different types of fiberoptic converters.
Pictures of common optical converters used in homes are below. The converter has an Ethernet output for data. Greenfield will connect the Ethernet output to one of the dedicated data jacks within your home. Any other data jack in your house can be connected by simply disconnecting the existing data line within the structured wiring panel and connecting the desired data jack.

Can I hook up more than one computer to the Greenfield Internet service?
Yes. Prior to your move-in date, Greenfield will have data available in one room in your home. If you would like to set up a home network so that multiple computers can be online at the same time, you simply need to install a router into the Structured Wiring Panel.
You have the option of installing a wired router or a wireless router. Routers and RJ45 cables can be found at most local computer/office stores. Simply find the data cable that is connected to the fiberoptic converter shown above, unplug it from your home network, and plug it into your router. If you have a wireless router, you are done with the setup. If you have a wired router, you will need to connect those rooms that you want Internet activated to the router using RJ45 cables. What does the optical converter cost?
The cost of the converter is already included in the structured wiring for your home and comes with a one-year warranty (extended warranty options are available by calling 949-248-8898).
